About

James McCaskie is a father, leader and mentor who shares a multitude of skills and experiences aimed at enriching and empowering others to live life well. He has a passion for addiction recovery, mental health, suicide awareness and prevention, and supporting others. He works with people of all ages, with a focus on men’s work. James brings a diverse set of creative arts and skills to his work, including a wide array of craftsmanship mediums, traditional spiritual practices, holistic health, training and wellbeing. Together, these form a way of living that inspires and supports you and/or your community on a path towards greater passion and purpose.
He is also the co-author of A Journey to Riches: Becoming the Creator of Your Life.

After facing his own struggles with addiction and self-destruction, James found a transformative pathway back to connection, purpose and sobriety through the traditional ways shared by a Lakota Chief and Medicine Man, who generously welcomed him into his family.

What began as a personal journey of healing became a lifelong commitment to ceremony, family and walking a sacred path grounded in service to others.

Through many years of ceremonial participation, James has been entrusted to share some of the practices that helped guide him into manhood and deeper alignment with life.

As the founder of One Living Earth, James has built a thriving community centred around right relationship with ourselves, each other, nature and the divine. His work encourages people to live more consciously, honour the earth, and reconnect with ancient values of unity, respect, generosity and service.

James is also the caretaker of his local community hall, where he facilitates a sobriety group and supports a range of community-based projects focused on wellbeing, belonging and positive change.

James is an artist/craftsman, carpenter and wellbeing mentor. He creates custom instruments and tools and offers personalised one-on-one mentoring to support a variety of goals across physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing. He also works with groups and can tailor programs to your specific needs.
